North-east Vietnam Adventure 8 Days

Travel offers tailor-made tours of Vietnam that include Sapa, Ha Giang and Ba Be Lake. Our adventures in Northern Vietnam tour combines both these regions and also it bring you to Ban Gioc Waterfall which is very close to the Chinese border in 8 days of trip.

Sapa is a scenic mountain area surrounded by high peaks, rivers, valleys, hillside terracing and many small ethnic minority communities. Their villages are traditional, typically tucked away at the bottom of the hill slopes – most villagers wear authentic traditional costumes.

The northern province of Ha Giang has the highest amount of Ethnic minority groups in Vietnam. Its unique mountainous landscapes are covered with terrace rice fields, rocky highlands, large valleys and lush forests.

Ban Gioc Waterfall – the world’s fourth biggest border-crossing waterfalls is attractive for its picturesque painting of blue sky, great limestone mountains and stunning rice fields together with the daily life.

Ba Be Lake is well-known for an over 50-hectare freshwater lake in the altitude of 145m above the sea level created by the confluence of three river tributaries after earthquakes tens of millions of years ago

North-east Vietnam Adventure 8 Days

Day 1: Hanoi -Sapa (Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

After breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to Sapa. There are some stops on the way for you to take a short break time. Lunch will be on the way. You will arrive in Sapa in the afternoon. You will spend the night in Sapa.

Day 2: Sapa – Lao Chai village - Ta Van Village - Sapa (Breakfast, Lunch, Guide)

After breakfast, you will start on a lovely trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hill tribe villages Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to Black H'mong, and Dzay people. This is an absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Once on the valley floor, you can really appreciate the wonderful scenery that surrounds you. The walls of the valley are covered with multi-layered rice terraced fields and scattered villages. After that, you will return to Sapa where you will spend the night.

Day 3: Sapa - Ha Giang (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

After breakfast, you will leave Sapa for Ha Giang Province Directly. On the route from Sapa to Ha Giang, you will stopover for visiting Chang village, inhabited by Tay minority people and enjoy beautiful scenery of the mountainous area, featured with palm tree hills. You will stay overnight in Ha Giang

Day 4: Ha Giang - Dong Van (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

After purchasing the mandatory permit at the Immigration Office, you will take the first spectacular road, which leads to Dong Van, a series of long passes and deep valleys. Your lunch will be in the small mountain town of Tam Son.

After that, you will cross a landscape of pine forest and arrive at the astonishing King of the H’mong’s Palace, a fortress built by a local chief allied with the French against the Vietminh, Vuong Chin Duc, and evacuated in 1950 (his descendants now live in France and Canada). You will arrival in Dong Van around 18:00. You will have diner in a local restaurant.

Day 5: Dong Van - Meo Vac - Cao Bang (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

An absolutely unforgettable day! It starts with the visit of the market of Dong Van, where the locals shop before returning to their eagle nest. You will then climb a pass up to the French Fortress of Pu Lo, built in 1890 and evacuated in 1945, from which you will enjoy a spectacular view of the entire region. You will climb on 15 km up to the top of the Ma Pi Leng Pass, through a gigantic maze of lime peaks, "stone forests", and canyons unique in the world. You will then go down into the valley of Meo Vac. You continue snaking through the mountains, cross the river, and arrive in the village of Bao Lac, where you have lunch and take the mountain road Bao Lac - Cao Bang. You will spend the night in Cao Bang.

Day 6: Cao Bang - Ban Gioc Waterfall (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

One of the most scenic roads in Vietnam arrives at the magnificent Ban Gioc Waterfalls, the closest you can come from the Chinese border: it passes through the middle of the falls and the river.

Before arriving to the waterfalls, you will visit one of the most spectacular grotto in Vietnam, Nguom Ngao, which counts several kilometers of superbly-lit galleries and an huge 100-m room. You will then arrive in the extraordinary site of the waterfalls, where you have lunch. Return to Cao Bang for diner and one night.

Day 7: Cao Bang - Ba Be lake(Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)

Today, you will go through Ma Phuc pass and continue to Ba Be National Park for a boat ride along the Nang River, with time to explore Ba Be Lake, the caves of Puong Grotto, the rapids of the Dau Dang waterfall and tiny Widow Island. You will also visit the stilt houses of the Tay community in Bo Lu Village, where you will spend the night in a Homestay.

Day 8: Ba Be lake - Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch, Guide)

After breakfast, you will stroll along the riverfront, visit some lovely villages and hike the upper reaches of the lake, in an area marked by massive limestone cliffs and mountains. Today you will have a passion by car driver. He will bring you through a pass which we call “Dog Flower Pass” then stop to take amazing photos by terraced fields.  After lunch in a local restaurant we also pay a visit to the Thai Nguyen Minority and Culture Museum where we can learn something about the culture and traditions of the different minority groups in Vietnam, it is our journey back to Hanoi, arriving there at around 5pm.
