With its numerous national parks, white sand beaches, colourful villages, pagodas and ancient monuments, forests and islands, Vietnam is a land of often surprising beauty, offering cultural depth and history, increasingly combined with tourism-friendly areas offering all the facilities a modern traveller could wish for.

Vietnam’s people are its greatest asset: gregarious, friendly and eager to meet visitors. In the bustling cities, the often chaotic streets contrast ox carts with limousines, ancient rituals with sophisticated technology, and are ruled by the ubiquitous moped.

Our strength is in translating these opportunities into detailed, practical itineraries. We do luxury travel and event planning, as well as a wide range of beach, family, honeymoon, adventure, golf, veteran and cultural tours.

There is no better way to experience a destination than through the perspective of the local people. At Water Puppet Tours, this key element of local insight drives every step of our process of tour design and delivery. We provide tailor-made tours individually crafted for each client, achieving this by emphasizing the direct working relationship between the client and the tour designer and operator.

Luxury Mekong Delta Speedboat 1 Day

Luxury Mekong Delta Speedboat 1 Day – Enjoy a scenic speedboat trip through the Mekong Delta. Departing by boat from HCMC, you will explore areas of the Mekong Delta that few other tourists get to experience.

You’ll experience the old-world river life of the Mekong, and enjoy a lesser-seen glimpse into rural Vietnam as it trundles along a slow tempo, as it has done for centuries. Key cultural stops include a Cao Dai Temple, a riverside market, and a pagoda, as well as evocative farmlands and local pottery workshops.

Enjoy countless photo opportunities of the idyllic scenery and local people as you cruise past buffaloes ploughing fields, fruit orchards and rice paddies. Visit a family homestead, where you’ll be invited to enjoy fresh coconuts and fiery Mekong whisky.

Your Les Rives chef will prepare a traditional Mekong Delta lunch including fried elephant ear fish – a delicious speciality of the region!

Depending on the route, you will visit a local pottery workshop, a traditional riverside house with huge Burmese pythons as pets, a quaint Mekong village and surrounding rice paddies, and then a traditional farmhouse where you’ll sample coconuts and Mekong whisky.

Or you will visit a local merchant and try a range of Mekong produce, and whisky and wine. You’ll walk along the banks of the river to a traditional rural Vietnamese house where 3 generations live, before exploring a charming village where you can try fresh coconuts from the tree. This variation provides fascinating insight into life in the Mekong Delta region.

Please note: There are two main routes for the tour after you depart the market, depending on the tour guide and water level.

7:30am: Your guide will meet you in the lobby of your hotel and bring you by car to your boat at Ho Chi Minh City’s central pier, Bach Dang.

7:45am: The boat departs and you slip away from downtown Saigon via narrow canals, and enter the verdant green tributaries of the Mekong Delta. A light breakfast is served on board.

8:45am: Enjoy a brief stop at the ornate, overwater Tuong Van Pagoda, while your guide explains the importance Buddhism to many people of the Delta.

9:30am: Visit a bustling, colorful riverside market full of local curiosities, tropical fruits and all manner of fish and shellfish. Great photo opportunities!

10:30am: Reach the idyllic watery expanses of the Delta itself, known as the Delta of Nine Dragons for the 9 tributaries that splinter from the main Mekong River.

10:45am: Turn off the delta into small, winding canals of the Thu Thua area, shaded by a canopy of foliage as you drift along lazily.
