Fansipan itself is an attraction of Sapa area as well as Northern Vietnam. The peak is a part of Hoang Lien mountain range, which is under the protection of Hoang Lien National Park. The trip offers you an opportunity to explore the beautiful nature and challenge yourself.
Day 1: Hanoi – Night train to Lao Cai (Driver Pickup)
A car will arrive to take you to Hanoi railway station in time to board the 21.10 p.m. overnight sleeper to Lao Cai. You will spend the night on the train.
Day 2: Sapa – Tram Ton – Climb up to 2800m (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)
You’ll arrive in the early morning, where you’ll be met and taken up into the mountains by car to Sapa, a small town perched on the mountainside opposite Mt. Fan Si Pan, Vietnam’s highest peak. Once at Sapa, you will have breakfast and take the refreshment before starting the trip to Fansipang peak. Firstly, you will be transferred to Tram Ton Station by car then you will start the journey. You are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. You will travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch.
With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2800m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.
Approx: 0,5 hour driving/ 6 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 3: From 2800m climb to the top of Fansipan, go down to 2200m (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Guide)
After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch.
After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2200m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.
Approx: 8 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
Day 4: From 2200m – Sin Chai – Sapa – Night train to Hanoi (Breakfast, Lunch, Guide)
You will wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You trek downhill through well-protected forest and after two hours of hiking, you will stop for lunch.
You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Back Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, get the room and take the short relax or refreshment before being transferred back to railway station to catch the overnight train to Hanoi. You will spend the night on the train.
Approx: 0,5 hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1 hour lunch.
For safety, and in order to enjoy the best weather to climb Mt. Fan Si Pan, this activity is available only from October to mid-December and from March to April. Please note that the climb up Fan Si Pan is long and strenuous and should only be undertaken by those who are fit and in good health. If you are in any doubt about your stamina, you should consult your doctor about the advisability of this challenge. No specialist skills or technical equipment are needed – just plenty of stamina and a good head for heights. All camping and cooking equipment can be provided, or guests can bring their own if they prefer. Porters are available to carry equipment, if required.
Day 5: Hanoi (Breakfast, Driver Pickup)
You will arrive in the early morning then you will be transferred to your hotel for refreshment and have breakfast. Tour Ends
